Verizon nixes Google Wallet support for LTE Galaxy Nexus

Google Wallet is not a service that I consider ?amazing.? In fact, I think that the service is still completely broken, even after its updates that added more support.

Apparently, I?m not the only one who sees the fault in Google?s payment app: Verizon (or Google) has just cut support for Google Wallet ? again. Users of the Verizon LTE-compatible Galaxy Nexus found out that Big Red no longer supports Wallet as of today.

It should be noted that Verizon never?officially?supported Google Wallet, but users have been able to sideload the payment app for a long time. Today, that no longer works.

If you own a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, don?t fret: some users are reporting that a revert to a previous version of Wallet, namely 1.5-R79-V5,?will set everything straight again.

Let us know if that works, or if you don?t care since you never use Wallet anyway!
